All of our yesterdays begin with today ~ More than Words ~ Vintage Challenge August

Hello ! Today I would like to share my takes on the current challenge at More than Words  which is Vintage and to use the word yesterday. Anyone that knows me knows I love vintage :)

I have actually have two layouts to share , they have a bit of a story.....
I came across both photo's on a site of facebook that people are sharing old photos from my home town.
The first is of my Great Grandfather (my fathers Grandfather) I had never seen a photo of him and didn't even know his name before this and my second son's name is actually his second name. My parents never really spoke of their grandparents or heritage really, they just got on with life I guess.

It is not a very clear photo, however I am thrilled to have a photo of him and feel a connection and felt a strong need to document it ( maybe one day my children will be interested in their heritage )

the second photo has my Grandmother (his daughter ) and her siblings in it.
I loved my Grandmother dearly, she was such a happy soul, but I never really knew her siblings except one...... On our way to and from Sydney we would always call into Lithgow and visit a Aunty Lylia (whom I called Aunty Lilac ) , being only a little girl I didn't realize she was my Grandmothers sister. Oh and I knew her twin sister Lottie as well.

My Grandmother is in the front on the left, looking at the photo, her twin sister is on the end of the back row.

Thank you for calling by and putting up with my trip down memory lane.

Love, Peace and Kindness
Mary x

Putting up with your trip down memory lane!!!! What ever next!!! I LOVE your vintage photos and envy your seemingly endless supply of them. It's wonderful to read about your memories and see that you've recorded them for your Grandies. The list of the siblings names are quite similar to those on my Father's side. I will never grow tired of you recording these precious photos for posterity. x

Now to the photo of your Great Grandfather - what a lucky find to acquire that image and add it to your families box of treasures. Isn't it amazing what information we can track down on the internet? I love the cluster you created for him and recognize some of the images from my own stash. Beautiful work Mary. TFS
