New Sketch Site

Check out Once Upon A Sketch it sounds really exciting. The thing I like about it, is that it is going to focus on journalling as well. And that I think is what scrapbooking is all about to record a event, to tell the emotions, date, who, what, where. So I for one am looking forward to joining in and improving my journalling skills.

5k weight loss challenge

well its weigh in Wednesday and today I got on the scales and I am the same weight as I started out. I seem to stay about the same give a few gram up and down depending on the time of day ect.
I did go for another 6k walk/jog today , so that is a good thing. And I find that once you start you want to keep doing it and it becomes easier, its the starting that is the hardest, So for me less food and more exercise!

a Layout

I started this layout yesterday whilst waiting for the lovely Annette to pick my up and whisk me away for a lovely relaxing lunch and finished it last night and I was really happy with it. I came across the quote on a blog and it was perfect for the layout of my 3 children (well they are adults now) but the verse will apply always. Love My Friends

Today I spent a lovely afternoon with Miss Annette, who has been away holidaying in Fiji & I missed her very much. We had a lovely lunch at the Mountain Teahouse and this cheeky magpie was trying to help himself to the sugar sachet at the next table if only he could get it open!

We also had a white rabbit munching away on the grass and forgot to take a pic. It was lovely and relaxing, and the afternoon flew by. Miss Annette showed me all the gorgeous pics from her holiday and she brought me back a beautiful necklace and bookmark (she is very naughty, but I love her)
So welcome back Annette, so glad your home.

Scrapping at Annettes

Every Fortnight a few of us get together to scrap at Miss Annette's house ,missed you yesterday Kim :(
and I actually completed two layouts yesterday, so was pretty happy with that. The fabulous Leanne J set a challenge on the Boxx to scrap a page from a video clip of Brooke Fraser singing "Something in the Water"~ love the clip and cant get the song out of my head now :0 Anyhoo when I watched and listened to the clip the first thing that came to my mind was a time when two of my friends and myself in our teenage years decided to take some creative pics ........ and they are so lame..... the pics that is, not my friends. Anyhow this is the layout that resulted

the pics are pretty bad quality, but they are over 30 years old , so I can imagine the camera wasnt much back then, but at the time I probably loved it.
Second layout resulted because the other night whilst doing the Sparkles layout I was searching and searching for some ribbon that I KNEW I had with cupcakes on it and couldnt find it~ of course after I had finished the layout I found the said ribbon a couple of days later. SO I was then determined to use it..... yep I'm stubborn and just for good measure I put two rows of it on the layout ~ teach it to hide on me. I'm not mad seriously

Also each fortnight we all take something to contribute to lunch and afternoon tea. I took Pastry Rolls for lunch and this is the receipe ~ easy peasy

Combine the following ingredients
1 large tub of Creamed Cottage Cheese
3 hard boiled eggs mashed
about 4 slices of bacon cooked and diced
about a cup or cup and half of shredded cheese
parsley
Mix all together
Cut your Puff Pastry Sheets into 4
add a large spoonful of mixture onto your square
and then make them into rolls by bringing up the sides and pinching together
brush over with beaten egg
pop into the oven and cook
ENJOY

AND NOW SHE CAN SEE!

A couple of weeks ago I lost my reading glasses and have been using a pair of old ones (which obviously are no longer strong enough) as I was struggling to read the paper, and forget the phone book!
So....... I went and had a eye check up and needed stronger glasses anyway and yesterday I was soooooo Happy to pick my new glasses up.

FINALLY She walks!

Finally I have something positive to report on the 5K weight Challenge....Yep this afternoon I did a 6k walk, I even jogged up a small hill (Very dicey for an old girl......Possum (Gilly and the girls who were at Geli's last June will get my Drift) So now I have started I will be walking most afternoons (about time).
I am happy I have got back on track, and I am so proud of my son that has lost 20k, so he is half way as he wants to loose another 20. He is looking so good and a much happier person.
