BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES ~ SKETCHY BOARD CHALLENGE

Hello !

Tonight I would like to share a layout for the challenge at Sketchy Boards Challenge.

I turned the sketch around

Beautiful Memories

This is one of my Mum's sisters , my Aunty Nanie ( her real name is Philomena ) , she also had the nickname Tunny . A beautiful lady , whom I loved very much and the best hug giver ever.

The frame is from  Two Sisters which I painted gold. Flair is from StudioFourteen40 and thank you Wilma for the Prima flowers. I have done lots of stamping on this layout.

I also ripped a gold doily up and added some strips, sorry that pic is a little blurry.

PARIS DREAMING ~ THE DAMSEL OF DISTRESS

Hello again,

Things have been kind of quite at work , so I have been using my time creating. I love being home , but hubby is not so happy as I don't get paid to stay home, but never mind.
I found another lovely blog The Damsel of Distress via my friend Lizzy ( thanks Lizzy ) and I am joining in a mood board challenge in honour of Bec the blog owner. The mood board contains all the things Bec loves

I decided to go with the colour combination that Bec loves ~ Purple and teal

I have made a card for a friend. Thank you Lizzy for the hand made flowers . My background I made on art paper with paints and then I ripped it up and layered it.

Thanks for popping by. There is still time to join in on the challenge , so hop over and check it out

YOU AND ME TOGETHER ~ LASTING MEMORIES

Good afternoon !
Today I would like to share a layout for Lasting Memories Challenge where the theme is Together. I found this Challenge Site via Lizzy ( Thanks Lizzy, you are so good at finding challenge sites )
I have chosen to scrap a photo of me and hubby in Vienna

You and Me Together

I have gone a little over the top pink and Pretty. But I went with the top I was wearing for inspiration with the colour palette

Thank You Sandra for the pretty soft flowers.  Flair is from StudioFourteen40 . I have done a lot of ripping and adding layers. I have also used PL cards for sentiment

There is a story with my new top.  We were at the markets in Vienna and it was all pretty hard sell. One of the first stalls we came upon was a clothes stall and my brother wanted to look at getting some new shorts. The stall was run by two young Indian Brothers and their Dad. So after some bartering  my brother brought a couple of pairs of shorts & Victor was having fun with them talking about cricket. I picked up a top to look at and next thing they were telling me it would look most beautiful on me. I don't like buying things without trying them on, but they assured me it would be most comfortable and was very stretchy ! They reminded me of the guy out of the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, they were so enthusiastic . I couldn't help but buy the top & crossed my fingers it would fit and that I would like it ( and then they tried to sell me one in every colour lol ) That night we went back into the markets for dinner ( I liked the top and it was nice to have something different to wear ) As we arrived at the markets the boys were packing up and upon seeing us there were lots of smiles and greetings and the boys told me "Madame you look most beautiful", my husband said what about him and they said "no sir you did not buy anything"lol .These are the stories and memories that make travelling so good.
Thank you for calling by. Don't forget to go out and share a little

WINTER WONDERLAND ~ STUDIOFOURTEEN40

Hello !

I am enjoying getting a few of my travel pics documented and thought I would like to enter this is StudioFourteen40's challenge , which is a tic tac toe. I really like the idea as it gives lots of scope.

The challenge goes to the end of July , so a good challenge to join in with if you are looking for one

Winter Wonderland

I have used the row across ~ Bling, Stencils, Free, Wood veneer, Journal spot or card

We were on the Flam Railway in Norway when I took this photo and if you look closely you will see the snow is up to the roofs on some of the buildings

I have been itching to use the gorgeous wood veneer Reindeer from StudioFourteen40 . I added some glitz to him for snow and I have punched snowflakes and added glitz to them as well. Also been wanting to use the big silver flower that was amongst my Mum's craft stash. I have used the vellum tab and world away words from StudioFourteen40 The sheets of words are really handy and there is a lot of sentiments on a sheet.

My background was a piece of white cardstock to begin with. I have used inks and a circle stencil to create my background. I also used a Georgia Heald stamp for my border as I think it looks like railway tracks and we were on a train :)

HER HEART WAS A SECRET GARDEN ~ 5 COLORS OF SUMMER

Hello
This is the first time that I have joined in with the 5 colors of summer and I must say I have really enjoyed it and I am a little sad that this is the last one :(

The color palette is  ~ Orange, Orange and Blue

I have ended up creating something completely different to what I thought I would . I had intended on a layout of my Grand Son and next thing I found myself picking up my book journal and this is what resulted

Her Heart Was A Secret Garden

I have loved looking at everyone's Color of Summer and thanks for letting me join in with you.

TREASURE FAMILY ~ LESSOLOGY

Good Evening !

Tonight I would like to share my entry for the challenge at Lessology where the criteria is wood grain.
I like the challenges at Lessology as one of the rules is that you must use at least one up cycle object on your entry.
I love to use old thread , buttons etc that were my Mum's , it just makes my layout have that extra special meaning to me , and I feel I am putting them to good use , instead of sitting in a tin or drawer.

Treasure Family

I have used a wood grain PP and many of the embellishments are Up cycled. The gold braid, big brown button, thread , lace and gold heart are all from my Mum's treasure tins.

I used a piece of a Bokeh sample I demonstrated for my scrapbooking class ( Thank you Lizzy for teaching me the technique ) and left over pieces of card stock to layer my photo of my Mum and her sisters. My Mum is on the right.

I thought I had finished my layout and then I came home to find a prize from Sketchy Boards and straight away thought the 6 x 6 paper with the image of the old camera and quote would be nice to add to my page and it adds a little bit of colour as well, plus the tan button .

I have added some lovely chippies in opposite corners ( Thank You Lou) and I have added coffee stained canvas and some old book paper in some of the ripped edges.

Thank you for calling by .

I will leave you with another snow photo from this week. We are suppose to have more snow this week.

When I saw the challenge at Words and Paintery via Lizzy's blog and saw that it was travel orientated and the colour palette of greens, well my thoughts went straight to Ireland.

Not everyone that Wanders is Lost

I did kiss the Blarney stone , so that might explain why I like a chat :)

I did a fair bit of stamping on this layout

Hello on this wet , cold afternoon from where I live.
Today I would like to share a layout for the challenge at Scrapki-wyzwaniowo which is..... The Sea

So I thought I would like to scrap another photo from my recent European Holiday.

Postcards from Mallaig Scotland

This photo I took at a lovely little fishing village we stayed at in Scotland.

The Post Card is a PL card and the flair is from Studiofourteen40 Some thread , ink, mists, buttons and texture paste.

I used the torn left over pieces of PP as well.
Thank you for calling by, I tried not to add to much to this layout , but ended up adding more than I had intended ie the texture paste, buttons and inks (just can't help myself ). Have a wonderful weekend and

SISTERS

Morning ! Gosh the weeks fly by so fast. Today I would like to share my take on the new Summer Of Color 5
The colour palette is

You are Beautiful Sisters

This is my Mum and her sister probably in their Sunday Best

I did a lot of fussy cutting and added pretty little braid & thread that was my Mums and I LOVE the chippy Butterflies ( thank You Lou ) I coloured them with Perfect Pearls and Glitz

How gorgeous are those hats . The PP had the oval frame , so I thought I would make use of it and cut the centre out add my photo there.

I usually try and put a bird on layouts of my Mum as she loved birds. Once again trissed up the chippies. I also added some pink paint to my page.

Thank you for calling by and don't forget to spread a little

DISCOVER, JUST GO, JOURNEY, TRAVEL, RUN AWAY, ESCAPE ~ PIXELS AND PAPER

Good afternoon ! Today I would like to share a layout for the challenge over at Pixels and Paper . When I saw the image it inspired me to get another of my Patmos photo's scrapped , from our trip in 2008.

The image

Discover, Just Go, Journey, Travel, Run Away, Escape

I loved our time on Patmos and even though I know Greece is having its problems at the moment , there I times I long to escape to there again. The simplicity , & the people, have me longing to go back. It must be a very worrying time for the people at the moment though :(

I have used a bottle top that I squished with my cuttlebug to place the sentiment in, a little Greek flag, Button, cotton, lace from a doily that I cut away. Georgia Heald pebble, Trinket Track Twirl. I also used a few different PL Cards to layer my photo on. Oh and I also used the little strips of off cuts from my Photo Mat to glue down the side as well, see next to the bottle cap and through the butterfly stamp

I have used a little Patmos gift bag tucked in the side of the photo

A little bit of stamping here and there and mists, paints and gesso , aqua crayons on the background. I was really not liking the layout when I started, but I am stubborn and just keep adding and fiddling until I am happy with how it looks to me.
The weekend comes and goes way to fast, but wishing you a a fabulous week and don't forget to share a little
