CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS ~ A 2 Z SCRAPLETS ~ LETS GET SKETCHY

Happy Weekend !
I recently received my DT package from A 2 Z Scraplets and couldn't wait to create with it, so along with the Sketch from Let's Get Sketchy which is

I created a Christmas layout ... Yikes only a couple of months away now until Christmas !

Family Traditions

I made Christmas Baubles for each member of the family and it is our tradition to each place our Christmas Bauble on the tree. The photo is of my two Grandchildren placing their Christmas Bauble on the tree.

I have embossed the A 2 Z "Christmas Traditions" with red embossing powder with flicks of silver embossing powder. I have embossed the large star with gold embossing powder, it comes in a pack with lots of stars

A bit of a close up

the family tag is from Lizzy and the Wish flair is StudioFourteen40. I used old Christmas Papers I had and the Resin Flowers I have had for ages as well, it is always a good feeling to use up old stash. The flower trim is from Craftqueen and I have used a Kaisercraft die for the Reindeer.
Wishing you a enjoyable weekend , I am going to the production of Mary Poppins tonight with my Grand daughter, so I am looking forward to that .

FROM THIS DAY FORWARD ~ MEGS GARDEN ~ VINTAGE jOURNAL RANGE

Hello !
Today I would like to share a layout that I created using Megs Garden range called Vintage Journal , I have to say I LOVE this range.
From this Day Forward

Isn't the Range Divine ! I have kept the page quite simple as I feel the Papers don't require too much, as it is just so soft and romantic.

With a craft knife I fussy cut a section of the old book, so the photo slid behind

added a couple of soft , pearl centered organza flowers and a piece of pearl trim , a Silver Diamante  flower , that I have cut from the trim and a thin satin bow in the top corner of my photo. Lace trim down one side of the photo and I cut a corner from the Large Doily to add across the top and down the other side of the photo.

The narrow satin ribbon flows across my layout to attach to the Lock and Key.
With the 4 x 12 strip of PP that comes with the 12 x 12 sheet I have made some layered die cut flowers

Everything I have used to create my layout besides some old rub ons and the silver sticker hearts from my stash are from Megs Gardens Store,  everything you need to create beautiful layouts. Pop by the Blog to be inspired the DT 's fabulous creations and I am sure they would love it if you left some love.
Oh and that is me on my wedding day, many moons ago now :)

Have a wonderful weekend
Until next time

AMOUR ~ A 2 Z SCRAPLETS

Hello ! I thought I would share a project whilst I am waiting for my daughter to arrive home for a couple of days.
A few weeks ago now (gosh that has flown by) I went to the mountains with some lovely friends for 3 nights , we talked, ate, laughed and scrapped.  Along the way we shared tips and techniques. The first morning was sunny and warm enough to go outside  and do a canvas with Miss Lizzy as our Tudor :)
So I had a idea on what I would do...... let me tell you it turned out COMPLETELY different lol

Love

would you believe there is actually a ballerina and ballet shoes charms on the canvas .
So Paris being the city of Love I used the  A 2 Z Scraplets "LoveChippy which I covered with gesso and then a Orange enamel Accents and I went over it with Crackle medium. Once the crackle medium dried I rubbed gesso over the chippy again to accent the crackle effect.
Also on the canvas I used the  A 2 Z Scraplets  staggered stencil.

Lots of mists and stamping and there you have it. It now lives in my Paris room

we had a lot of fun doing our canvas and getting messy , under  Lizzy's expert guidance.
Thanks so much for popping by and I am sure the girls would love you to pop by A 2 Z Scraplets blog and see what they have been creating and leave them some love.
Until next time, happy creating and wishing you

STAY CALM LAST CHEMO ~ ARTASTIC OCT CHALLENGE

Hello on this sunny, but windy Sunday ( which means my hayfever is in full swing )
The second reveal is up at ARTastic and this months theme in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month is the colour Pink. Our inspirational piece is from Chris Hobel "Rose Pink"

and here is my take on the challenge, which is close to our families heart

Keep Calm , Last Chemo

I have used pink and the pattern paper has roses on it and I also added a rose stencil in the corner. After the initial shock of being diagnosed with Breast Cancer , our Daughter in law focused on getting through surgery, chemo and getting well. She did so with strength, courage and grace. Last day of Chemo was a happy day for her and she is doing really well now

The flair is a funky flair Studio Flair

Thank you for calling by, I hope you join us this month in the challenge and don't forget to check your breasts regularly.

ISN'T SHE LOVELY AND STARRY STARRY NIGHT

Hello !
Popping by to share another couple of layouts ( I have been a busy beaver)
The first one is the layout my class did last weekend. We used a kit from Craftqueen and I really love it, so pretty and I do love circles

Isn't She Lovely

I am very grateful to have my beautiful daughter and looking forward to having her home for a couple of days next week.

Next a layout for the latest challenge at Sketchy Boards

Starry Starry Night

Very different to the first layout . Whilst looking for a photo for the challenge , I came across this photo I took of Vincent VanGogh's self portrait in the Musee D' Orsay Paris in 2015. Terrible photo, but I thought it went well with the challenge colour palette. VanGogh is one of my favourite artists, so I felt blessed to see some of his work in Real Life.

I think the flairs may be Funky Flair Studio Flairs
Lizzy I think gave me the gold frame ?

I have had the old paint brush on my desk for ages. It became all bent, but I knew it would come in handy one day.
Thanks so much for calling by . I think I have just about caught up with my blog posts.
Nearly the weekend , got to be happy about that.

HOLD ON TIGHT , STAND STRONG ~SCRAPKI-WYZWANIOWO CHALLENGE

Hello again ! two posts in one day !
I am back to share my layout for the current challenge at Scrapki-wyzwaniowo  which is to be inspired by the Forest.
The challenge made me think of some photos I took in Bergen Norway last year.

Hold Tight Stand Strong

This amazing old tree's roots had grown over the large boulder and attached itself to it ~ where there is a will , there is a way .

I used a branches stencil and misted with lots of forest colours. Found these beautiful leaves and flowers in my Mum's flower stash ( they are probably antique )

aren't they gorgeous

Thank you for calling by, I hope your week is wonderful and full of happy moments

FAMILY ~ A 2 Z SCRAPLETS

Hello !
I seem to have a few layouts I need to blog. Firstly I am sharing a layout using the "Family" chipboard piece from A 2 Z Scraplets, who seriously have everything you could possibly think of in chipboard designs.
I created this layout whilst on a girly, scrappy get away in the mountains, where we laughed, chatted , scrapped, ate and shared tips and techniques

Lizzy kindly shared her tip of using a copic pen in two different shades to colour half of the chipboard piece with each colour and then add a lovely sparkly touch of glitter through the centre of the word with a Wink of Stella brush from Stampin Up. Thanks Lizzy :)
The photo is my eldest son and my two Grandchildren, my how they grow up so quickly .

Thank you for calling by and I really appreciate your comments

BELIEVE IN THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS ~ PIXELS AND PAPER CHALLENGE

Hello !
Well today the sun has been shining , which is a good thing, still a little chilly though.
I would like to share a layout for the challenge at Pixels and Paper, which is to use frame/frames on your layout.

Believe in the Magic of Christmas

A dear friend gifted me the gorgeous flowers and ribbon yesterday and said she thought I would like to use them on Christmas cards. Whilst they would look beautiful on Christmas cards, I like them far too much to use them on something that may be thrown away.
So what more special than a old Christmas photo of my two boys when they were little.

I have framed their sweet faces with a lovely die that I think Cheryl or maybe Jo had on our recent girls get away . The star is a stampin up Die that Cheryl kindly lent me .

How gorgeous are those flowers and ribbon ! I have used really old Kaiser PP and also a old Kaiser Paper from a 6 inch pad, that I loved and never wanted to cut it, so I have managed to use it on my page in one piece and still showing the beautiful images. The reindeer ribbon is a favourite of mine as well.
I also used three old Kaiser brads in the corner, love using up old stash.
I really enjoyed creating this and I am happy with the end result.
Thank you for calling by
wishing you a fantastic new week

COUNTING OUR CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS ~ SCRAP AFRICA OCTOBER CHALLENGE

Hello !
Tonight I would like to share a layout for the lovely Moodboard challenge at Scrap Africa

I was inspired by the lovely colours and this is what I came up with
Counting our Christmas Blessings

Our beautiful Grand daughter Christmas Day 2014

The flair is from Funky Flair . I have used lots of silver as embellishments .

Cheryl kindly lent me her stamping up star die to cut out some sparkly silver stars.
The PP is the new Kaisercraft Christmas range. I am a liking using this lovely range as a change from the Traditional Christmas colour palette.
Thanks so much for calling by, I really appreciate when you take the time to leave some love.

WE ARE ALL A LITTLE BROKEN ~ ARCHISCRAPS ZENTANGLE CHALLENGE

Hello !
Back again to share another challenge with you. Like I said the beginning of a month is a BUSY time.
The Challenge at Archiscraps this month is Zentangles , which I have to admit had me stumped for awhile. Here is the inspiration picture

So I sat down and came up with a layout. Remember you can make a card, tag etc, doesn't have to be a layout

I recently spent 3 nights in the mountains with this bunch of girls and it was definitely good for the soul. We scrapped , we talked , we laughed.

I have kept the page fairly simple . The flair is from  FunkyFlair Studio I believe. The title is a mix of Alpha's , you know how there is never enough E's or S's ( I think they should put a extra sheet in of each) but I guess it makes us be resourceful to come up with other alternatives.
"lovin this group of Humans" is a sticker and was just perfect.

So being all deep and meaningful now, over the course of the 3 days the thought came to me "that we are all a little broken"
Not saying that these girls are lol , but I guess we just never know what the next person is going through and just being life we all have stuff happen, and then Jo had the lovely sentiment that "Our Friends help to put us together again" which she allowed me to use on my layout. I am certainly lucky to have such beautiful friends.

I hope you can find some time to join in the challenge. I have to say doing the Zentangle pattern is quite relaxing.
