CSI CHALLENGE # 86 ~ LOVE PARIS

Hi all,
The current challenge over at CSI  is right up my alley, for any of you that know me, know that I happen to Love Paris just a little bit :)
So the challenge
I had just brought a Apricot Pan Pastel , so was keen to use it as well as do a layout on my favourite City ~ Paris
Love Paris ~ Yes I do !

Thank you Kim for the flowers The little circle trim is from Craftqueen and the Lemon trim is from Marally Craft

The Pink Spotty Paper is from the Bonjour Kaiser Range so that is appropriate

The layout started out as quite a clean and simple line. But as often happens the creative process takes over and I go off on a totally different way. I started to think about how Paris is a old Beauty. So many beautiful old & ornate buildings. Hence the torn opening With the Pattern Paper (which made me think of the theatre ) and the beautiful Opera building in Paris. I have added the lace and tie back to make it seem like you are looking at the stage.

So for my evidence I have The scallop edge, Art Medium as in the apricot Pan Pastel smudged over the Plasters tape. My Architectural accent is my little theatre and to tie something ~my lace tie.

Is to hand write my journalling  about a city I love.
Thanks so much for calling. It is a beautiful day here today and I hope it is for you

SUMMER ROAD TRIP ~ CSI CHALLENGE #365

Hi All,

Today I want to share the layout I have done for the Challenge over at CSI , in this challenge CSI has collaborated with the UK Magazine 365 http://scrap365.blogspot.co.uk/

I know my layout is quite busy, but I had fun with this layout, as the Road Trip/weekend was such a fun time and I think it ended up showing in my layout

I could have some explaining to do if hubby wants to use the road map of NSW , as it now has a big hole in it ! I have already thought of an excuse  ~ must be some really hungry silver fish :)  Anyway I ripped (or the silverfish did) part of the map out that Had Orange , where we left from to Anna Bay where we went, I have circled both and stamped arrows .
The "Hit the Road" Chippy is from Scrapmatts http://scrapmatts.ning.com/ The texture Paste which has a grit in it like sand that I have glimmermisted is to signify the ocean, the Yellow splotches are for sunshine

Thank You Natalie for the badge

Thank you for calling by. Hope you can join
Wishing you a wonderful weekend and hopefully a bit warmer than it is here at the moment

Hi all
Just posting my challenge for Orange Paperie. This month the challenge is to use Flowers and Chipboard

TIMELESS

the gorgeous rosettes and satin seam binding are from Craftqueen & the green flower with butterfly  charm is from My2angels http://www.my2angels.net/

Chippy is from Scrapmatts  and I have used Croco Crackling and perfect pearls to colour it. Washi tape is from Craft Queen, lace is from Marally Craft  . I have embossed the cherry blossom pattern and rubbed gesso over it with my finger.

I found this photo in my mothers album, I am not sure who it is, but on the back of the postcard it has written ~ From your sister May. I might have to do some investigating. I loved the photo regardless , so decided to scrap it.

I have also used the croco crackling on the Timeless chippy from Scrapmatts.

The gold beads are also from Craftqueen. They are great value as you get heaps on a sheet!
Thank you for calling by. Hope you can join the challenge at Orange Paperie, pop over to the blog and have a look at the lovely prize up for grabs this month , kindly sponsored by Craftqueen

CSI COLOUR CHALLENGE #84 ~ I FOUND PARADISE

Hi All,
I didn't know if I would have the time to get a layout done for this challenge. But the colours reminded me of Fiji, so I wanted to get another holiday pic done and where there is a will there is a way they say.....
The Challenge

some closies of my layout
some texture as a symbol of the ocean

Some nautical Scrapmatt chippies
I was given the Bamboo Embossing folder from John  and thought it was perfect for an Island Layout, so thank you John

I cut around the shape and rubbed some gesso over it with my finger to make the pattern stand out.
The chevrons are also from Scrapmatts

New Challenge at ColorMeScrappy ~ Birthday Wishes

Hi all
The new challenge is up at ColorMeScrappy and it is a really lovely soft colour palette
and the twist is to use fabric on your layout

Now the layout is not what I had envisaged that I was going to do. I had soft , romantic, etc
However I came across these old photo's of my Children with my Parents and I just wanted to scrap them, so...... I did

I love the cheeky look on Christopher's face
The 72 is how old Dad was and the 92 is how old Dad lived to
I have use Croco Crackling on the letters as well as Kindy Glitz and dimensiceal Magic and I have use Dimensiceal Magic on the Simplicity dress pattern
I have journalled on a tag that slides in the side of the photo
and it says
Celebrating Dad's 72 Birthday. No fancy restaurants, Harbour Cruises or trips for Dad ~ his Idea of a perfect Birthday ~ Dinner and cake at home with his Grandchildren.
The reason I have added the word Simplicity to the layout , is because Dad enjoyed the simple things in life . Being at his home in a little country town that he lived in all his life, family and friends & he adored his grandchildren.
When Mum and Dad came into town to do their shopping , we would say lets have dinner out and Dad's idea of eating out was buying a meat pie or fish and chips and taking them up to my place to eat (not mine and Mum's idea of lunch out)

Thank you for calling by . Hope you can join us in this months challenge
Love and Peace

CSI # 83 ~ Memories Recorded

Morning!
I thought I would like to do the Case File over at CSI as I love doing travel pages and reliving the wonderful memories
The colours made me think of London and since I brought these PP's last Saturday that I was itching to use

So in the evidence I have used labels , Grid Paper, Travel Accents, Teresa Collins Stamps, circles and tags.
My journalling is tucked inside the envelope & reads
"Our last stop of our Europe adventure was London. Three amazing days. I got to see where our son Christopher was living & he showed us around at a hectic pace, trying to fit in as much as we could. What I saw of London I loved ! The major sights, art galleries, we went to a show, the Camden Markets to name just a few ."

I have used one of our tickets for the underground which is great because it has the date on it

The badge is another of my goodies from Natalie

Thank you for popping by. I have the day off today, so I had better get out of my pj's and get something done !

OLD FRIENDS ARE THE BEST FRIENDS ~ CHALLENGE AT 123 CHALLENGE BLOGSPOT

Morning! I am a little bit happy as my girl is coming home today for a very short visit, but better than no visit hey, except I have a stupid headache :(
I thought I would like to enter the challenge at 123 Challenge Blogspot as it ticked all the boxes of what I love to scrap and when I saw the word Old was part of the criteria I knew exactly what I wanted to scrap about, hence my title Old Friends are the Best Friends. I have been missing my best friend since she moved to Brisbane and some days more than others. The other day I found myself getting teary wishing she was here.

The photo is old of course and not very good quality, but never the less it is a memory. I got to play with some of the beautiful goodies Natalie sent me , the Jute, and the tag in the side. The packet of Paris tags could not be more perfect for me, as anyone that knows me would know, Thank You Natalie.

The Road trip book was a envelope template from the fabscrap Paper range that I have used in the layout, but I cut it up to use as tags ect So my little book opens up to reveal my journalling

We have shared a lot of times over the 30 odd years of friendship, Sad times, hard times, worrying times (those times came as we got older), but boy we have had some dam good times, and they are the ones I choose to remember, but best of all we have shared all those times together. Most of all we have laughed a lot together.
Thanks for popping by, don't forget to join us at ColorMeScrappy as well

Love and Peace
