FRIENDSHIP ~ LAYOUT FOR HOME AND SCRAPPED ~ THEN AND NOW

Morning! Gosh another new month is here already, they are flying by.
Today I would like to share a layout I did for a challenge at Home and Scrapped ~ Then and Now.
I wanted to document the beautiful friendship between my daughter and her bestfriend. They met when they were about 3 years old

Some friendships last a lifetime

I find multi photo layouts difficult and I feel it is a little OTT

Aren't they cute :)

So lots of ripping, stamping, paints and bits and pieces. Like I said maybe a bit OTT

Thank you for calling by and I hope you all have a wonderful day

SPARKLY DAY ~ SUMMER OF COLOR 5

Hello and a happy weekend to everyone

Today I would like to share my take on the Summer of Color 5  ~ Week 3
not sure if I have missed the deadline again , but that is ok. It is really challenging me with the colour palette's as these are colours I normally probably wouldn't use, so it is a challenge.

SPARKLY DAY

Recently whilst away in Europe and we had literally just arrived at our accommodation in Budapest I received a message from our daughter with this photo attached saying "whilst Victor is a million miles away Lucas thought it would be safe to ask " Yes our baby daughter got engaged. Lucas had asked our permission a few weeks before and we had to keep it a secret, but we didn't know when he was going to pop the question to our daughter.

I knew I had this old PP with this verse on it, the colour hues and  so I thought it would be perfect for the challenge and photo

Also The Sparkly Day Chippy came in very handy. I used art paper again and painted it in mauve hues to put under the photo and rip and add to the side of the layout. I also used some stamping

A little cluster with some mauve thread that was my Mum's . The chippy butterfly I  covered with gesso and coloured mauve. Some mauve paint drips

Thank you Lou for the chippies I have used. I also used a flair that has the word Always on it from StudioFourteen40

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for calling by

DARE TO BE DIFFERENT , FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS

Hello !
I would like to share with you my layout for the challenge at Scrap Our Stash and The Summer of colour 5 . I was inspired to do these challenges after seeing the lovely Sharon and Lynn's layouts for the challenges .
Scrap Our Stash is a sketch challenge

and the summer of Colour is a colour palette of course

Probably not colours I would normally use and I have to say when I started my layout I was hating it, but I kept adding and fiddling and in the end glad I took the challenge on.

Dare to be Different , follow your Dreams, Be brave, Sparkle

With my Beautiful Grandchildren, Easter 2012

My hearts I made by layering and dripping paint on art paper and them drawing some hearts and cutting them out. The butterflies I fuzzy cut from some old PP . The little vellum hearts I have had for ages and no longer remember how I acquired them. Some old pink ric rac of my Mum's , a bit of washi tape and some flowers I have also had for ages. Not sure where the little wooden hearts are from now, maybe Lizzy ? The Orange PP background I have Also had forever.

some texture paste

Satin seam binding, cob webbing and thread.

THE WEEPING TREE ~ PICTURE THIS CHALLENGE

Another layout to share, yep I have been busy ! I came across this challenge site via Lizzy Hill , thanks Lizzy. The challenge site is PICTURE THIS and the challenge is to use paint, one photo and a stencil. So my layout of the Weeping Tree ticks the boxes

The Weeping Tree

I took this photo of the Weeping Tree by Imre Varga at the Raoul Wallenburg Memorial Park Budaphest. Names of Hungarian Jews killed during the Holocaust are engraved on each leaf.

I have used a serviette I brought whilst in Budapest by the Artist Klimt. I used it on the layout as the Nazi's stole his painting of the Woman in Gold during the war. The flair of the Dove is my wish that one day there will be peace in the world. (Sadly humans never seem to learn )

I have added gold paint here and there on my layout. My whole design was inspired by Klimt .

As well as using a stencil and texture paste for leaves, I have also coloured and used some chippy leaves. I think you may have given me these Lizzy ? so thank you.

I really didn't know how I was going to do this beautiful sculptor justice, but I was happy with the outcome. The layout is much more vibrant and golden IRL

CHALLENGE YOURSELF ~ LET YOUR SMILE CHANGE THE WORLD

Good morning and a happy weekend to you all!
Today I would like to share my layout for Challenge Yourself, where anything goes as long as you are in the layout.

LET YOUR SMILE CHANGE THE WORLD

This was taken when I was having a mini holiday with my daughter. Every now and then we would get together and spend a few days together just doing nice things. This day we were at Bondi Beach for Sculptures by the sea. I sat on the chair for a photo because I have the worst memory ever, so it was a bit of a joke.

Lots of paints, mists, texture paste and embossing powder. A little stamping and threads.

I used the negative of a alphabet die , no such things as scraps. The pebble is from Georgia Hearld .
Thank you for calling by, I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment.

SCRAPBOOKIT JUNE CHALLENGE ~ TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

Hello ! No work and rainy days means getting lots of scrapping done
This layout is for the challenge at Scrapbookit. The challenge is ~ Adventure, Animals and Arrows
Now this is a photo that I thought would stay in a box and never see the light of day, but this seemed the perfect challenge to drag it out and scrap it. Here goes ~ my take

Our Best Moments

A lot of my best moments have been spent with those I love and very good friends.
This was taken at a weekend get away to Anna Bay with a group of lifetime friends, we catch up with every second year.
Before any camel jokes, my very best friend has already asked me which one is the camel ! Yes my best friend (lucky I love her )

The Look chippy is from StudioFourteen40 , you should pop over and check out their shop, filled with good stuff :)

Ripped up some coffee stained canvas to add under my photo as well as some strips across the top. Strips of scrap pattern paper add some colour and I dragged out some paint as well.

Some stamping , paint and ripped paper.

Thank you for calling by and hope you find the time to join in this fun challenge

FORGET THE MAP ~ LET'S GET ARTY #64

Hello !
Today I would like to share a layout for the challenge at Let's get Arty. The challenge is Discolouration.

This is my take on the challenge

Forget the Map

My discoloured item is the coffee stained canvas under my photo and also at the side ripped section.
I did try and keep this layout fairly simple, but those that know me , know that I have a problem walking away and to stop adding.

The flair is from StudioFourteen40 and the flowers and threads are from my Mum's craft tins. The flourish I have added crackle paint to.

The photo was taken at a Park near the Little Mermaid statue at Copenhagen.

I am so not a map person, sometimes life's greatest memories are created without maps

MID MONTH REVEAL AT ARTASTIC ~CREATE YOUR OWN BEAUTY, BE TRUE TO YOUR HEART

Hello , hello

It is mid month reveal time over at ARTastic, I hope you can find the time to join in on the challenge, which is.....

We are working with this fun and quirky painting by Luka Va called "Bird King".

CRITERIA is wood veneer and/or birds.

So thinking caps on and show us your twist
Here is my take

Create your own beauty

This fellow was only to happy to create beauty and strut his stuff for us on the Isle of Skye Scotland and was the perfect subject for the challenge

The flower and swirls are from the trinket track. Chippies are from Imaginarium Designs, thank you again Lou.  The beads/gems and leaves are from my Mum's treasures

I also used a serviette I purchased overseas, as I loved the bright colours. The serviette is the circle and I have also added it in the corners

I added texture and lots of mists. I was really happy how this turned out, as I didn't really think I would end up scrapping this photo, and it is even more vibrant IRL.

Thank you for calling by , I really appreciate your comments and I hope you can join with us at ARTastic this month.

Hello,

Just popping in to share my take on the Sketchy Boards Challenge for this month. I recommend you pop over and check out the gorgeous DT layouts.

This is the  prompt, first the sketch

and now the gorgeous colour palette

And this is my take

Special Memories along the way

This is a little church we saw in a tiny village as we went for a walk . IRL the colours are more vibrant and the photo doesn't pick up the gold shimmer.

Flair from StudioFourteen40 and the gorgeous flowers are from Wilma. Chippies I have painted gold was a gift from Lou

Whoops notice a stray bit of brown cotton on the layout , oh well , can't be bothered photographing it all again

Thank you for calling by, I appreciate your comments
