TODAY WE WORE FLOWERS IN OUR HAIR ~ CSI #159

Hello !
Today I would like to share a layout for CSI #159 . This layout I actually had just started for a DT layout , but when I saw the case file over at CSI it seemed to suite perfectly.

Evidence
Jewels
Mix Media
Decorative Border

Testimony

I have used the words from a Brooke Frazer song "I got Halo's made of Summer and Ribbons made of Spring. It seemed to suite the photo and I had the CD on playing while I was creating. Thank you to Leanne Jago for introducing me to this singer's music.

On the back I have journalled " Back in the 70's life was so easy and care free. We were happy and everyone just enjoyed having a good time. I never really heard anyone saying bad things about other people. Perhaps I just lived in my happy bubble. Sadly People to me these days do not seem to be so happy and kind to each other.

I used lots of gorgeous Chippies by Imaginarium Designs. I received a lovely gift chock full of these beautiful chipboards from Louise Nelson and I am really enjoying creating with them. The Butterflies I have wet and then carefully peeled back the layers to create dimension

Thank you for calling by.

wishing everyone

THE GIRL LOVES TO SHOP ~ KRAFT PLUS ALL THAT GLITTERS CHALLENGE

Hello ! Back online after not having a computer for over a week. I was starting to get a tad edgy I must say. But I am lucky and did not loose my photo's or blog , Phew !
I was starting to worry I was going to miss deadlines though.
So here is my take on the challenge at Kraft +Plus , all that glitters and a sketch

A Girl should be two things Classy & Fabulous

The gorgeous chippy under my photo is a Imaginarium Design chippy, a gift from the lovely Lou Nelson. I painted it gold . The ballerina is a gift from the Lovely Cheryl and I also added a touch of gold to her tutu.
I have used a lot of StudioFourteen4o goodies on the layout. The little hearts the" & " I have made all glittery with kindy Glitz, added sprinkles of sequins and the gold washi & of course a flair.

When I got my computer back everything is different and I don't know where my photo editing I used has gone.  I am doing the best I can at the moment until I track it down. I used Pic Monkey for the whole layout, but that is to time consuming for the snippets. I just want to do the basics , crop , straighten etc. Why is nothing ever simple ? Grrrr
But I am happy to have my computer back.
The photo is of my daughter when she was a little girl, all ready to go shopping, ( she still loves shopping) Her Grandma made the little dress and cardigan) the beads and bag were also courtesy of Grandma as well. The cat in the photo is Gravy,  ( the kids named her that because she was grey) I thought it was important to leave Gravy in the photo, as she was a part of our family story.

Tuscan Living ~ Challenge Yourself ~ Bucket List

Hello,

The challenge over at Challenge Yourself is .....

Challenge YOUrself #16:  The Bucket List
What are some of the things you want to do in your life?
Or have you recently achieved something on you bucket list or a goal?
Tell us about it.

Remember to include YOU in the photo :)

♥♥♥
Well what is on my bucket list is to live in Europe for 6 months when we retire. We are thinking probably a village in Tuscany. It is a toss up between a village in France or a Village in Tuscany, at this stage we are leaning towards Tuscany and we can visit France whilst there :)
The hardest part of this challenge was finding a photo with me in it while we were over in Tuscany in 2008 , as I was the one taking all the photo's . Such a beautiful place .

Dream Big

Thank you Helen for the fabric button ( such a lovely card and gift in the mail )
I have treated the chipboard with metallic rub on and embossed the latch as well. Added some washi tape strips and use the negative diamonds of the die cut on the layout ( no need to throw them away )

Thank you for calling by. Let me know you were here and I hope the challenge inspires you to document what is on your bucket list .

YOU MAKE ME HAPPY WHEN SKIES ARE GREY ~ ARTastic

Hello !

The challenge over at ARTastic this month is....,

This month we feature a delightful work by Barbara Hanrahan called The Dog, the Cat.
CRITERIA is to use a quote or saying on your submission

If you pop over to ARTastic not only will you be able to read more about the artist Barbara Hanrahan but be inspired by the DT's take on the challenge

Here is my take on the challenge

I took my inspiration from the colours and patterns. I created my background with paints and also used a stencil here and there for the pattern.

The quote I used "You make me Happy when skies are grey " seemed appropriate for this photo. It was my birthday and it was also the day my Mum had to go into a nursing home. It was a very hard and sad period of my life. When I was looking for a photo for the challenge and came across the photo's of my birthday I hated them all of me. They say the eyes are the windows to our soul and in every photo my eyes look tired, hollow and sad. But then I saw this one of me looking at my Grandson and smiling. My Grand children are my comfort and sunshine when skies are grey.

You Make me Happy When Skies Are grey

"Be You" chippy is from StudioFourteen4o. The rest of the chipboard was a beautiful gift from Lou Nelson. I was blown away by Lou's generosity and could not wait to play with the goodies she sent .

I really enjoyed creating this layout and it came together quite quickly.

Thank you for popping by and I hope you can join us this month.

NEW CHALLENGE ~ ANOTHER FREAKING SCRAPPY CHALLENGE

Hello !

The new challenge is posted at AFSC and the challenge is ....

In order to celebrate the blue skies, the challenge this month is to create with:

THE COLOUR BLUE!!! OR YOU MAY JOURNAL ABOUT A TIME THAT YOU WERE BLUE (SAD). CHOOSE EITHER - OR INCORPORATE BOTH IN YOUR WORK!!!

I have chosen to use the colour blue as my palette , as the subject makes me very happy :)

I am late posting my post as we have just spent a lovely couple of days away. We got to see our daughter and we went to the Eagles Concert, which was fabulous. Our daughter gave us the tickets as a gift, so we were very lucky.

Now onto my layout, which is of my beautiful Grandson. He makes me happy

This boy makes me happy

I have had these papers for a long time, so it was good to use them. I have done a lot of tearing with the paper . Also I seem to have loads of ribbon and wanted to use ribbon in a couple of different ways as well. I have made my banner from ribbon and then twirled ribbon under my photo, added a bit of cobweb ribbon for a splash of colour.

As always there is a spot for a beautiful StudioFourteen40 flair. Pop over to the blog and check out the awesome talent of  Gina , Jodi and Sandra to inspire .
I have added some stamping and coloured brads.
Please pop over to AFSC , join us in the challenge and check out the DT member's blogs. They have created some gorgeous layouts and I am sure would love to hear from you.

Thank you for calling by, please let me know you were here
