The little post card pulls out and has my Grand parents names and that they were at my eldest brothers wedding when the photo was taken.

The gold button that I have tied Satin seam binding around is from a win over at Zeus and Zoe a long time ago.

some old thread and brads in the corner

AH PARIS ~ PIXELS AND PAPER CHALLENGE

Good morning , I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.
When I came across the challenge at Pixels and Paper , I could not help but be inspired to join in. I can never get enough of Paris .... Sigh. I hope to go back one day. So I pulled out my photo's and this is what I created. Oh first the challenge prompt is ......

I was inspired by the photo of the Eiffel Tower, which of course immediately takes you to Paris. The Louve is actually one of the firs places we visited in Paris. We spent quite a lot of time there and still there would have been so much more to see. So much amazing art took my breathe away. I truly believe an artist is blessed with an amazing gift. I cannot even begin to try and explain how amazing it is to see these treasures in real life. It really just left me in awe. I would love to get inside and Artist's head and see how they see things and think and how they can then transfer it onto their canvas.

I have used the satin seam binding and butterfly to hide a man in the corner of my photo. Satin seam binding and old thread seems to make an appearance on most of my layouts.
The little square grids under my photo are negatives from a word punch out sheet.

I have enjoyed adding texture and mists, always fun to get messy.

I have added some little beads in the tear.
Thank you for calling by, may the coming week be a good one for you.

We had no idea how to work the photo booth or what we were doing, but it was a lot of silly fun.

As always StudioFourteen40 flairs find there way on my layout (that is because they are so versatile) The blue star is from the Trinket Track. The smile chippy I have painted gold.

The dice are also from the Trinket Track.

Washi tape, stamping &  paints.

EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL HAS IT'S MOMENT ~ LESSOLOGY CHALLENGE

Hello and thank you for calling by here.
Today I would like to share a layout for Lessology challenge No #44 ~ tick tock

It's time for another fun challenge and this month we want to see how creative you can get with a clock face. Yep, alter a clock, use a clock stamp or embellishment for LESSology Challenge #44: Tick tock.

Remember, you can create any project you like as long as you use at least ONE upcycled item on your project. Please indicate what the item is in your blog post as it may not be apparent

This is what I have created

Everything Beautiful has it's moment

This is a time we had a beautiful holiday on the island of Navutu in Fiji. I have use the clock embellishment and the  word moment in the quote.
My recycled items are the Plasterer's tape and the white netty material from a cut up doily. The blue sparkly piece of material I cut from the end of a lovely piece of braid

Gorgeous flair is from StudioFourteen40 of course :) and I have added a little stamping here and there

Added some texture and splashes of white ink

Pop over and check out Lessology's challenge and hope you can join in , they are a lovely bunch of gals

BE YOURSELF BE HAPPY ~ SCRAP AFRICA SKETCH CHALLENGE

Good afternoon

There is a lovely sketch over at Scrap Africa and amazing inspiration by the DT.
Here is the gorgeous sketch

and here is my take

Be yourself be Happy

I had scraps left over from the same range, so I fuzzy cut the flowers from it and combined with traditional flowers. "Love You"  flair is from StudioFourteen40 Little teeny , weeny flowers are from my Mum's stash.

A few days later I decided to add some butterflies ( yep I never know when to stop) So this is the revised layout

So I made a little window and filled my heart with Sequins and such. I think little punched out hearts would also be nice to fill the heart with.  The little wood veneer heart is from StudioFourteen40 , just adds that little perfect something. The little bird is a stampin up punch that I got from Cheryl and I think I will be using it a lot.

The photo's are of my Husband and myself with our Grand Daughter at her year 10 formal ( growing up so fast ) Photo's taken by our son Christopher
As I had the negative of the heart I cut out and left over PP and we are going to dinner tonight for our GD's Birthday, I decided to make her a card using the sketch as inspiration.

Thank you for calling by. And remember Be yourself , be Happy

NEW CHALLENGE SITE KRAFT PLUS ~ MUM AND THE AUNTS

Hello !
There is a new challenge site on the block. A lovely bunch of girls and the site is Kraft Plus
So if you love creating with a Kraft base I recommend you join in on the challenges.
The very first challenge is ~

Mango Breeze Colour Inspiration challenge.

*please note, this is NOT a mood board where you have to use the photo as inspiration,
this is purely a colour challenge. You can add touches of black, white or neutral for titles and journalling etc and you don't necessarily have to use ALL of the colours.
It is up to you how you interpret the challenge.

And have fun with it!

Well my Fiji photo's came to mind or Patmos Island and this is what I came up with lol

Mum and the Aunts

Yep not tropical at all. For some reason I picked the photo up and thought lets see if I can make vintage work with the colour palette.
Not sure I pulled it off , but there you have it.

The gorgeous flair is from StudioFourteen40, the little flower braid was my Mums as are the threads. The flower is from a win over at Scrapbookit ( another challenge site I suggest to join in with )

I used gelato's and  water paints to get my colours.
Now if you are not interested in the history of the photo I suggest you skip from here on in .

My Mum is the lady in the front on the left looking at the photo. I will have to journal about my Other aunts and add to the back. The lady behind Mum is my Aunt Molly who was married to Mum's Brother Harry. The next two ladies are my Aunt Alice and Aunt Mary and they are sisters who never married. The photo made me remember that I have that fur ( but then again I may have given it to my daughter, must ask her ) I also have a stole fox thing with the fox's head still on it ! It is way up the top of the wardrobe. I can't bring myself to like something that an animal had to die for the sake of fashion ! It would be an antique though I would say.
Anyway the next lady is My Aunty Dot (my kids used to call her Dot Dot) and she is Mum's sister , I loved her dearly. The little boy is my cousin Peter and I am not sure who the lady on the end is, I will have to ask my cousin. My Aunt Alice travelled quite a bit and I have some lovely bits and pieces from her trips.

So pop over and check out the new Challenge site and be inspired by the DT's work

Love and Peace

CHALLENGE YOURSELF ~ ONE LITTLE WORD ~ SHINE

Hello peoples ,
yes I know that is not a word , so grammar natzi's please don't attack me. :)

I am sneeking this in for the challenge over at Challenge Yourself and the challenge is

Choose a word that you will focus on and reflect upon all through the year and create a layout that celebrates your chosen word.
Remember to include YOU in the photo :)

I have been mulling over this for the last month and had not been able to come up with anything that seemed right . I have been finding it hard to focus (Lizzy would say that should be my word ) but over the last couple of days the word shine just kept coming into my mind.
I will keep this short and sweet and not get too deep and meaningful

Dare to Shine

Such a goofy photo, I am so hopeless at selfies. But my brother gave me the hat for Christmas , he brought it in Malaysia. I usually don't like hats, but I quite like this one. Anyway I digress

So why I picked this word ~ to remind myself  I am ok. That as long as I am happy with what I do and enjoy the process , then that is ok. Other peoples opinions are just that , just their opinion. I think it is also reminding me to have more confidence in myself.

Flair is from StudioFourteen40. Little bulb came from my  Mums tin of trinkets, threads are from My Mum's sewing treasures.
