LIVE A FULL LIFE ~ CHALLENGE YOURSELF ~ CHEVRONS

Good Evening on this Easter Thursday.

Today I would like to share a layout for the challenge over at Challenge yourself. The criteria is chevrons and of course you must be in the photo.

Live a full Life

So I have used a little bit of everything for my chevrons :)
I have used a mask and texture paste and coloured the chevron pattern with different coloured Pan Pastels. I also used Washi Tape , chipboard pieces that I inked and also my tag under the photo has a chevron pattern on it. I think I have the chevron covered lol
The photo is taken overlooking the city of Prague . Gosh looking at photo's takes me back and makes me want to go back ! Still I am blessed to have traveled at all and I treasure all my memories of far away places and people. Maybe one day again, you never know. The green PP is much softer than it photographed, its hard sometimes to get the true colour.
I would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter, I hope you get to spend it with those you love.
I am feeling for the people of Brussels so I think it is so important in the world we live in today to spread as much kindness and love as we can to one another.

JOURNEY ~ SOUL SCRAPPERS

Good afternoon on this brisk Autumn day here in my hometown.
Today I would like to share my layout for the Challenge at Soul Scrappers to be inspired by the word Journey

LIFE'S JOURNEY

The photo is my brother exploring the lane ways of Zurich last year. I loved Zurich.
I got the embossing powders out for the chipboard pieces of the cogs, nibs and clock.
The Teresa Collins PP I have had for AGES , so it always a good feeling to use up old product and papers.
I layered my photo up on PL cards.
The Quote ~" Don't be so focused on getting from point A to point B , that you miss all the between " came to me one night in the bath, yep its where I do all my best thinking :)  It was a bit of a light bulb moment.
This morning we did the Dye Hard Fun Run, it was a lot of fun and I hope to do it again next year. To think this day last year our Daughter in law had just had major surgery for Breast Cancer, certainly made us all appreciate today even more.
Wishing you all a wonderful week.
I will leave you with some pics of this morning

LOVE ~ SKETCHY BOARDS CHALLENGE

Hello,
Sharing a couple of layouts with you today.
The first is for the challenge at Sketchy Boards
and this is the inspiration

and this is my take on the challenge

Love

I have had this PP for ages, I really like it , but it is so busy I didn't know how I was going to use it. So I decided to get it out and just use it. It seems to have a vintage feel to me, so that is what I went with.
The photo is  my Mother in-law and Father in -law. I love it as they are so young . Sadly I never knew my husbands Mum as she passed away quite young. From everything I have been told she was a beautiful lady.
My Second layout I wish to share is my two beautiful Grandchildren on my Granddaughters 18th Birthday, Yikes I feel old !
My Sunshine

This layout is for a challenge at Soul Scrappers that required torn paper, hearts and rounded corners.

Thank you for calling by and I hope you have a chance to be creative over the weekend. We have gone from being so hot, to Autumn well and truly arriving today. It has rained today which is fabulous, but gosh the temperature has dropped, I have ugg boots on !

THIS DAY IS A JOURNEY ~ ARTASTIC MARCH CHALLENGE

Good afternoon ,
The second reveal of the design team has been revealed at Artastic and I am popping by to share my layout with you.

We are working with this super cute and quirky painting by Mia Taninaka called Oh The Wise One.

and the criteria is Wood Veneer

This day is a journey, this very moment an adventure

My wood veneer is the explore chippy and I also took the inspiration from the owl.
The photo is of my Grandson at the Park , exploring and looks so little next to the massive old tree.

I also made a card with the owl theme

It is not a range I would normally choose, however I have a pen pal that loves owls and purchased the range to make pocket letters , cards etc with her in mind. I am surprised just how much I have used this range .
I hope you take the time to pop over to ARTastic and be inspired by the DT and what they have created for you and it would be lovely if you left them some love and join in the challenge with us
Happy Creating

WHAT IF I FALL ~ SOUL SCRAPPERS

Good afternoon where it has just started raining here, lightly, but raining none the less, so fingers crossed we get a nice fall.
At Soul Scrappers I set the quote challenge each month. This month it is all about having faith , trust , encouraging someone , feeling the fear and doing it anyway, courage, along those lines and the criteria besides using a quote is this month to also use texture and some chippy. Here is my layout for the challenge

What if I fall ? But my dear what if you fly

Photo Credit of my Grand Daughter goes to Winki Pop Media.
I have used a mask and texture paste & mists. The hearts and butterfly are chipboard pieces which I have painted. Satin Seam Binding, button with hearts and music notes and tulle ribbon are all from Craft Queen . Then lots of thread and some sequins and sequin leaves from my Mum's bits and pieces tin.
If you are looking for a challenge , there are lots to choose from over at Soul Scrappers, we would love to see you there.
Happy Creating and

WELL HELLO DOLLY ~ SOUL SCRAPPERS

Hello !
Over at Soul Scrappers one of the challenges is to create a layout with words from the Song "Hello Dolly " Well I had to enter this challenge!
Last year in Bergen Norway , we came upon this restaurant Called Dolly Dimples, so of course I had to get my photo out the front of it.

Well Hello Dolly

I really prefer to scrap in vintage/ muted colours, but sometimes the photo requires brights . I did have fun with the Dylusions Paints which I purchased last year at mojo and need to use them more. I may have gone a little OTT , but if your going to go bright, might as well go all the way.
I have used quite a few StudioFourteen40 products on my layout.
it is a little hard to photograph the foil flairs without getting a reflection, but they are gorgeous

another StudioFourteen40 Flair and Lablez & Cutz words

The Light Bulb Paper clip is from StudioFourteen40 as is the Noted file tab.
So there you have it, me going all bright and another travel page done and dusted.
Thank you for calling by, I hope your week ahead is a good one and you find some time to create and if you need inspiration I suggest you watch some of Marta's video's on You tube

THE LUCK OF THE IRISH ~ MARCH ANOTHER FREAKING SCRAPPY CHALLENGE

Good afternoon,

The new challenge for March at AFSC is to use green, so to me there is not much greener place on earth than Ireland and being St Paddy's day in March I thought I would scrap one of my Blarney Castle photo's (I did kiss the Blarney stone whilst there )

All of the embellishments on this layout besides the Flair from StudioFourteen40 and the bottle tops that I made and the chipboard heart which was a win from Berry71Bleu are from a Sketchhyboard challenge win (thank you Heidi)
So I hope you get your green on and join us this month at AFSC.

Also I will share another layout with you. For this layout a lady from the USA sent a few girls at Soul Scrappers all the same embellishments and we had to do a layout using them. At first I was only going to use the picture of the girl looking down that I was sent and  I would add a quote as it looked really good like that, but a layout has to mean something to me, so I worked a photo of my daughter into the layout, as I do pray for angels to protect her everyday. So now the layout has meaning to me and I am still happy with it ..... Even if it is purple Lizzy lol

I have to say I loved all the embellishments she sent and I used them all on the page.
Until next time

AUTUMN IS A SECOND SPRING ~ ARCHISCRAPS MARCH CHALLENGE

Hello ! well the months are flying by and today is the first day of Autumn in Australia. So it seems fitting that my layout for the new challenge at Archiscraps is a day in the Park in Autumn a few years back.
This is the challenge Prompt

and the criteria to use gesso or texture paste and some yellow. This is my take on the challenge

Autumn is a second Spring

I found this layout really hard to photograph, it is much more vibrant IRL. This is my Daughter and Grandson quite a few years ago now, enjoying a day in the park.

The flowers are from a vintage hat that I actually wore on my Daughters Christening day.
I hope you can join us this month for the challenge and I would encourage you to pop over to the blog as the DT have some beautiful inspiration for you.
