VERY HAPPY TO BE GD AT SCRAPBOOKIT FOR MARCH

Hello on a very wet Saturday, which is lovely as the rain is badly needed.
I am very happy to be the GD over at Scrapbookit for the month of March. Pop over and check the inspiration from the Scrapbookit team and join in on the challenges. My challenge this month is to use  Layers, Texture, Stamping and the title to be from a Song or quote .
Jo sent my the new Kaiser Blue Belle Range to play with, this range is gorgeous and right up my alley, as to me it has a lovely vintage feel. With the generous kit Jo sent I managed four layouts and a card so far, and there is enough to still get another card or two . I will post some more layouts over the next few days. The first one I would like to share, as it contains the elements of my challenge

We begin & end with Family

The lady on the right with the dark hair is my Husband's Mum. The two children in the front are my husband and his sister. The other lady is their Dad's sister.
My Mother in law died when my husband and his siblings were very young ~ 15, 13 & 6. So whenever I scrap photo's of their Mum I feel it is very special ( not that all pages aren't special) but they don't have all the memories of their Mum that most of us get to enjoy, so I am scrapping the ones that are left in photo's for them, if that all makes sense.

I have used a honeycomb and script stamp. I also stamped around the outside with a Kaiser stamp with 3D Stamp-Paint ( the blue sparkly one) and then I went over it with black Archival ink to make it stand out a bit more.

Added some white drips & also stamped some leaves in the cluster as well.

I made a card ! Yes I did :)
I am not one for doing many cards, but I am getting better I think. I made this one for my Sister in Law using the Blue Belle range

Thanks so much for popping by

PIXELS AND PAPER CHALLENGE ~ MOULIN ROUGE

Hello ,
Sneaking this one in by the skin of my teeth ( that is a crazy saying, when you think about it)
Anyway when I saw this challenge over at Pixels and Paper awhile ago I knew that I wanted to do a layout, as the image reminded me of some photo's I took in Paris.
This is the image
and this is my take

I was finding it a little hard to scrap, I stuck with it. Not sure if I am happy with it, but its a memory down, so that is a good thing and I think of a quote I saw ~ not every page has to be a masterpiece :) Not a very clear picture of me and Victor , but that could be a good thing.
These photo's were taken at the Moulin Rouge. We had decided before we left Australia we would not go to a show as it is very expensive...... But of course when I saw that red windmill I wanted to go to a show ! Alas it was booked out, but it was fantastic just to see the site itself. And I took heaps of photo's of it of course.

The lovely pearl and gold button I have used for the centre of the white flower is from Zeus and Zoe. The  Paris charm, Prima flowers ,washi tape , webbing  & gold bead flowers are from Craftqueen The tassel is one of my Mum's treasures.

Thanks so much for popping by, I do appreciate your lovely comments.
Still a few days to enter Orange Paperies challenge as ours goes till the 5th of the new month and still time to enter ColorMeScrappy and Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge before the 1st March.

CHALLENGE YOURSELF ~ LOVE U 2

Hello!
I wanted to share with you the layout I have done for the challenge over at Challenge Yourself . This month they have a colour palette , plus to scrap a page on someone you love.
The palette is ....
And I Love these two, my beautiful grandchildren

I was really happy with the stamping over the texture paste. I think the Prima Love chippy had every medium & colour on it, till I settled for in the end Perfect Pearls over it.The drips are gelato's with water spritzed over the top. The little pearl flowers are from Craftqueen.

In the close ups I haven't changed the Love chippy to the Perfect Pearls . I decided to do that after I had taken those photos

Thanks so much for popping by. I wish the weekends didn't go so fast! Wishing you all a wonderful week. Don't forget to check out the challenge at Orange Paperie and Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge and Color Me Scrappy as well as Challenge Yourself. Plenty to keep you busy :)

ORANGE PAPERIE ~ LOVE

Hello !
Well it is the month of love being February and so the challenge over at Orange Paperie this month is to scrap about Love and the criteria is to use hearts and journalling.
Our guest Designer for the month is Lizzy Crust. I have asked Lizzy some questions that she kindly answered to get to know a little more about her. Lizzy does beautiful work and is the queen of layering and fussy cutting. Visit Lizzy's blog to be inspired by her gorgeous layouts and also visit Orange Paperie to see the other DT members layouts along with Lizzy's.
My take

Satin Seam binding, sweet little flowers, vine ribbon, circle braid and pearl flowers from Craftqueen. Prima Love word is also from Craftqueen. I have rubbed gesso over it and coloured it soft pink. The Flair is from Studiofourteen40

I was inspired by the colours in the challenge over at Scrap it with attitude  when I came across Janice's  gorgeous layout.

Recently I joined in on a vintage tag swap and this is what I created.

As always thank you for calling by. Love to see you join us at Orange Paperie.
May I just say it was lovely to wake up to the sound of rain this morning.

PAUSE AND TAKE IN THE BEAUTY ~ SCRAP AFRICA SKETCH CHALLENGE

Hello,

Yesterday I just wanted to play with gesso , mists and stamps , so I decided to do  The sketch challenge for
Scrap Africa which is .....

and this is the result

Pause and take in the Beauty

I seem to have a weakness for stamps and feel I don't use them enough, so I had a play and enjoyed this process this layout took . Thank you Cheryl for the gorgeous lady stamp , I love her.

when I arrived home my order from StudioFourteen40 was waiting for me and I used one of the flairs from the new Dali range straight away. I think it is my favourite range so far.

The photo was taken in gardens at Avignon France. I had stopped just to sit and take it all in, aware we may not be this way again. I often did this while we were overseas, trying to soak it all into my memory, In awe of all the beauty we were seeing, not wanting to leave it.
Pop over to Scrap Africa and you will be blown away by the amazing talent of the DT over there. The layouts are so, so beautiful.

Thanks so much for calling by I appreciate your feed back

CSI S365 -4 ~ AMOUR

Hello,
still hot here, but will try not to talk about the weather .
I had so much fun today doing this layout for CSI for the S365 ~4. I had fun using lots of different mediums

I was really inspired by the textures and colours of the dress.
Evidence ~ Flowers,
 Jewels ~ ( My Mum's treasures),
 Metal ~ the heart
Fabric ~ some muslin and cut up doily
Decorative Border ~ I have stamped around the edge with a Kaiser stamp
Texture paper ~ I have modge Podge Dried tea bag paper under my Photo as a photo mat
Stamps ~ A few different Kaiser stamps
Vellum ~ I have made a vellum pocket for my journalling and note from my husband
The brown Grid Paper behind the pocket is Prima Packaging
So keeping with Creative Jump Start 2014 there are lots of household goods and the swirls were also inspired by Creative Jump Start 2014I acquired some Mica flakes Lizzy  so I added them to the flourish and circle texture paste patterns.
Testimony ~ I have journalled about our wedding.

Our wedding was such a fun wedding, we had the reception in my Uncle and Aunts packing shed at "WhyWorry" Borenore. The shed had a big clean up and was decorated with flowers hydrangea's etc to make it look pretty. Mum and my aunts did all the catering ( I have no idea how they managed that, but I guess they all pitched in and helped)
Dad organised the music ( I was stressing a little over this fact) but it turned out fantastic and everyone danced and danced. People today still say it was the best wedding they have been to.
Now 35 years later, on  special occasions you leave little love notes for me to find which is so sweet.

And finally

Thanks so much for popping by and taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it.
Today is my GD 16th Birthday . Not sure where the time gets to, but boy it goes quick

Love and Peace

COLORMESCAPPY ~ 2 CUTE FOR WORDS

Hello ,
This post might be short and sweet, it is soooo hot I don't think I can stand to stay in the office to long. Shoot me now for not letting  my husband get reverse cycle air conditioning when he wanted to last year !
ColorMeScrappy's new challenge is up
The colour palette

and the sketch

How cool is that, (did someone say cool?) oh I wish

Keeping with Creative Jump Start 2014  theme of using household items ,I found the two papers under the cork on the layout behind my parents wedding photo when I took it out of the frame, and I thought the texture was pretty cool ( did someone say cool ) and the ribbon and braid are from my Mum's treasure tin

How super cute is my grandson, adorable I reckon.
I have cut the arrows out of corrugated card
Thanks Lizzy for those stars, just love them:)
Thank you for popping by, please join us in the challenge. Must go before I melt
Love and Peace
