Scrap the Boys ~ Tradition

Afternoon lovelies,

Thought I would sneak another one in before the end of the year :)
This is for Scrap the Boys http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/ the challenge to scrap a Christmas themed photo using non tradition colours. I love the Kaiser Christmas Range. So here are my two Gorgeous Boys , my Grandson and his Uncle (my second eldest) Putting the Christmas Angel on top of the tree. It is a tradition for the youngest to put the angel on the top.

I have glimmer misted the canvas with my favourite colour "Patina"
a old book page with a Christmas story , some Chevron tape and Reindeer Ribbon from Craftqueen ( I have a thing for reindeers ) http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/

A bit of random stamping

I am not sure where the chippy is from now, I have altered it that many times and finally stuck with it

Thank you for looking

The Glen ~ Kaiser Marigold Collection

Hello on this last Sunday of 2012, gosh where did the year go!
I am still creating with the Marigold Collection and I must say I was really happy with this layout of my Mum and Dad in the Rose garden of my Grandmothers home (Mum's Parents)  "The Glen".

I have used a Kaiser doiley, flowers and lace. I decided to tie the lace into a bow. A bit of washi tape and Teresa Collins brads ( I LOVE them) I also swiped gesso under the photo and have tucked a mini envelope in the side with the Journalling, which says ~ My Mum and Dad in the rose garden at "The Glen" which is my grandparents home at Borenore ~ Ma & Pa's ~ my Mum's Parents.
I usually always have journalling on my layouts, most of the time I slip it in the side of the photo. I also love my Chevron stamp :)

Thanks for calling by, please let me know you were here.

Kaiser Marigold Range ~ Memories

Hello Lovely people,

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and that the New Year brings all things good to everyone. My Christmas was quieter than usual and a little sad without my Mum, but no doubt she is keeping Dad on his toes in heaven.
Allyson from Marally Craft http://marallycraft.blogspot.com.au/ gave me the Marigold range of Papers to create with and this is one layout I have come up with so far and working on another

Memories
This was a day at Dubbo Zoo when my kids were little, gosh I made cute kids :)

a little banner made from the sticker sheet, Kaiser lace and doily, bakers twine

the little punch out die cuts come from the 6 x 6 pad

the little birds are a Martha Stewart Punch and the sentiments are from the sticker sheet. I always place my stickers on card stock first so I can play around with where I am going to place them and add foam dots for dimension if I want.
So do you make New Year Resolutions or not? I am having a think about the New Year~ it has to be better than this one
Cheers

Seeing we don't have snow at this time of year in Australia, just hot and dry, we so need some rain at the moment ! I decided to do a Christmas themed layout.

I have used gess on the piece of hessian and also have my journalling tucked in the side

The journalling says ~
Amelia and Jedd, putting up the Xmas tree 2012. These two sparkle and shine more than any decoration could. My two very own Xmas Angels.

Even the off cuts of the cardstock can come in handy

as can the top of a page from a spiral bound notebook

Thank you to all those that visited my blog this year, thank you for your support and for the encouraging comments you leave, I really do appreciate it.
May you have a truly wonderful Christmas, the best New Year ever, stay healthy, safe, laugh and smile a lot, especially those good belly laugh, they are so good for the soul.

Family Moments ~ using Kaiser Forget Me Not Range

Hello scrappy friends,

I have a layout to share using the Forget Me Not range from Kaiser that Allyson @ Marally Craft gave me to create with :)
http://marallycraft.blogspot.com.au/ and this is what I came up with
I have used the transparency over my layout that has the chicken wire pattern on it,  and the blue forget me nots are in the collections packet that I have layered with foam dots. I have swiped some gesso under the transparency and added 3 rows of  the gorgeous Kaiser lace, love the coffee colour , great for vintage and the kaiser mini doilies were the perfect colour with a little scrap of the satin seam binding I had kicking around, some old time clock washi tape and all done.

Today I braved the shops to get the food/drink for Christmas. It was a job I kept putting off, but DD took control , she made me make a list and we all set off together to tackle the task. It really wasn't as bad as I was expecting. We got a park quite easy and close, it wasn't really that busy in the supermarket and having the list we breezed through. It was actually quite fun making it a family effort. I must say though most people had a unhappy, stressed look on their faces :(
The list

Happy Shoppers

Wishing you all a stress free and wonderful, magic Christmas

Scrapfriends Colour Challenge ~

Hello scrappy friends (and I mean that in the nicest possible way :)

The new colour challenge is up at Scrapfriends http://blog.scrapfriends.com.au/

I decided to go with the Christmas theme and use the free papers from one of the scrapbooking mags

The layout title is  ~ And the winner is ..... Joe

My journalling is tucked in the side and can be pulled out with the ribbon tag. The Journalling says ~
Each year being the competitive souls my family are ~ they try & be the one that has their Christmas bauble higher than the others. So we now have baubles hanging from the lights, picture frames and the ceiling !
Yep true story

Thanks so much for popping by, please let me know you called.

Scrapfriends DT Call and a layout

Hello scrappy friends

First of all did you know Scrapfriends http://blog.scrapfriends.com.au/2012/11/design-team-call.html  are looking for a new
DT member ? How cool would it be to be on the design team!
The site offers fabulous tips and tutorials, a colour challenge  and I LOVE their sketch challenges, plus they have a sketch gallery if you need a bit of inspiration AND the shop ! so many gorgeous products, sigh. Check it out

Also I have scrapped a layout of my Mum, a bit of therapy maybe.

The colours are better IRL. I started this layout as I wanted to use the chippy and it was going to be a layout of my daughter. Then I picked up the Kaiser Forget Me Not PP, came across the photo of my Mum. Mum loved flowers, so the PP suited perfectly , I picked up the 6inch PP that was floating around loose in my scraproom, Mum loved birds, so this is how it started to take shape.

I added the bit of old dressmakers pattern with modge podge and tore a bit that had the word simplicity on it, Mum led a simple life plus she loved sewing and crafts. I then added some little beads around the frame that were in a jar from Mum's craft cupboard and the cheese cloth came from Mums as well.  So this layout has a lot of meaning for me and I thought I would share how it all came together with you.

The little flower is from Craftqueen http://www.craftqueen.com.au/  as is the little black flower beads

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend, even though it is nearly over and not getting to hustled and bustled with Christmas approaching
