A Lovely Scrappy Day

Yesterday Kim ://lifeisabalancingactx8.blogspot.com/ and myself had a lovely scrappy day at Miss Annettes http://annetteedmonds.blogspot.com/  We try and do this every second weekend and most times seem to  manage it. Some days are really productive and some not so , but we always have lots of laughs and have yummy food, I'm sure you have heard about Kim's famous Pav MMMMMMm
Well yesterday was one of the productive days. I arrived , late as usual, no plan, just throw a heap of stuff in and sort it out when I get there (yep not the most organised person). Then Miss Annette reminded me our DT layouts were due for scrapthatsong next week Yikes! http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com/

Ok well I just picked a piece of Pattern Paper that took my fancy and went from there, done and dusted. But cant show you that one yet, maybe a sneak peek perhaps ;)
The night before I finished off a layout for a lyric challenge over at Home and Scrapped http://homeandscrapped.ning.com/  which is what I had planned to do an Annette's, but once I start a layout I cant stop until it is finished. I have taken to saying in my head "Walk away from the layout" , but nope have to finish it, crazy I know.
And Then I re did a layout that I did when I first started scrapping and I'm sure I loved it then...... it was literally a pic stuck on cardstock with a few punched autumn leaves stuck around, so I like it much better now :)

First the layout for Home and Scrapped. My Beautiful Grandchildren

Bottom PP is from the Mariposa stack, top PP is Bo Bunny ECT Range (love this range), Chippies from Scrapmatts, Flowers , and twine from http://www.craftqueen.com.au/, Lots of messy stitching, a bit of tulle. The song is Just the Way you Are ,by Bruno Mars and I have slid the lyrics in the side of the pic on a tag.

Next Zoe and Amelia, this is the layout I redid

To look at a larger version , just click on pic
Kim lent me her Crafters Workshop Template, the Key Material bow is from the gorgeous Jess Mac http://thehappyscrappyplace.blogspot.com/ , the gorgeous bird and flowers from http://www.craftqueen.com.au/ and lacey material from the lovely Elise http://elise-ourwonderfullife.blogspot.com/ I was really happy with how this turned out.
Well that's all folks , will show sneak peeks of scrapthatsong layout next post, so....... stay tuned
Happy Scrapping
Hugs

Back from my little holiday

Hello lovely people,

Last week I had a few days at Nelson Bay and then came down to Sydney, Camden to be exact, which worked out quite nicely as I have some rellies there. The reason we were in Camden was for our Daughters Graduation, so we then took the opportunity to catch up with my cousins. So some holiday pics to share

We were carrying on like  pelicans
 A little windy

One very Proud Dad

So its back to work this week :(  a little hard to take after lazy days by the bay, having happy hour and doing some reading.

I did miss my scrapping though, although it gave me the chance to read my Sommerset Mag from front to back and drool over the amazing talent , sigh

I have been doing Leanne Allisons http://leanneallinson.blogspot.com/ Online Course over at the Boxx http://www.theboxx.scrapboxx.com/ and I have really enjoyed it. I also did this layout for a challenge over at the Boxx as well

I have used Teresa Collins World Traveller PP, A Twinchie from the lovely Kerri http://myscrapnaddiction.wordpress.com/ Craftersworkshop Template, twine and flowers from http://www.craftqueen.com.au/, this was in a little village in Tuscany. Tuscany is experiencing flooding at the moment and lives have been lost and villages destroyed so my thoughts go out to them.
On a happier note the lovely Leeann and Jess are both having give aways , so visit their amazing blogs ( you wont be sorry) such super talented ladies
Firstly Leeann's blog and etsy shop

Two Posts in One Day !

Oh my goodness, oh well make up for my recent slackness.
Bek Over at http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com/ asked the DT to scrap a layout that was meaningful regarding our partner, wedding... you get my drift. Well I scrapped the song I DIDN'T have for my wedding! I wanted to walk down the aisle to Joan Baez's song " If you were a Carpenter"..... well my mother.... no way in hell was going to allow that, so guess what I walked down the aisle to Ava Maria. Mum one, me Nil
Funny whenever I think of my wedding song that is the song I still think of , even though I DIDN'T have it lol.

I Used the Prima Madeline Range of A4 PP, boy I've got my use from this pad of PP's , love them. I got it from http://www.craftqueen.com.au/ and apart from that, a bit of tulle and a couple of sayings, a border Punch, butterfly punch and I have slid the words of the song on a Prima Journal note in the side of the layout.

Please let me know you called by, your comments make my day brighter

Cheers

Challenge

Hello lovely people,

I have been a bit slack blogging of late, been feeling like that quote from Janice Joplin's Bobby Mcgee song, "Feelin near as faded as my Jeans" BUT one more day of work and then ONE WEEKS HOLIDAYS Yay, so looking forward to the break.
Michelle Logan has a challenge at her blog, so go check it out and then have a go http://mlogandesigns.blogspot.com/ The challenge is to use pink on your layout a chippy and misting/inking/paint & this is what I came up with

this is my Beautiful Granddaughter, so I have the pink, I have swiped ink over the chippy and inked the edges of the PP. I just love the Melissa Frances PP, isn't it just gorgeous! The music PP is Kaisercraft, the Twinkles are from Susan , and the button is from http://soupie75.blogspot.com/ and the gorgeous doilies are from Elise, So there you have it, not sure if i should have cut the pic out, but to late now! Yikes

Thanks for dropping by, please let me know you call and don't forget to go to http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com/ and join in on the fantastic choices of a song to scrap this month

Cheers

Kite

Hello people's

The new Challenge's are up over at http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com/ so pop over and have a look at what songs the DT has chosen this month. I love getting inspiration from songs for layouts.
I have chosen Kite by U2. U2 is one of my fave bands (and I think Bono is kinda Sexy) . The reason I have chosen this song and the meaning it has for me is ~ When the second child moved overseas for a couple of years, hearing this song I would become all teary, as the song is about letting go, for me it was learning to let go of my children, to realize they were no longer children and had to go out and make their own dreams, memories and futures.

So pick a song and tell us how it inspires you

and for your listening pleasure hope you enjoy it as much as I do

Thanks for dropping by

Cheers
