Getting down and messy with Gesso, glimmermist and glimmer glam ect and loving every minute :)

Home and Scrapped had a CC on the weekend and one of the challenges was to use collage background, glimmermist ect. Theme Home and title to have the word home it it.
Well when I started my layout I was thinking well I'm not actually home I'm at the Colosseum in Rome and there were so many more contradictions. I was thinking this isn't really making sense, However I continued on and it became a real journey, I was lost in the process and I was loving it. And when I was finished and I have to say I LOVE the end result! Thank you Nathalie Kalbach http://www.scrapbook-trends.com/ for teaching us your wonderful workshop and I have put some of the techniques you showed us to use in the layout.
So I used the quote from the Wizard of Oz "Close your eyes and tap your heels together three times, and think to yourself there's no place like home"
And I realized when I had finished that this layout is REALLY ME, very random, but unconsciously ME. I was thinking I am in Rome, but I have used old French Book Pages and French Tissue Paper .... But I LOVE France and also I LOVED Italy. The Book Page titled Rose Leaves and Old Slippers for some reasons reminds me of Venice and yep I loved Venice also. The Tivoli Theatre ticket..... We went to a town in Italy called Tivoli that had the most beautiful gardens and I love Musicals and Theatre productions. The Clock.... My husband is ALWAYS telling me I have NO Time Management (true), The angel ..... I believe in Angels. I nearly always have butterflies on my layouts , but never just one, as it would be lonely. Little bits of lace, I love vintage things. The Doilies .... I nearly always have a doily on my layouts... yep love them. Muslin, again nearly always have muslin , as I love how it softens a harsh edge  and adds softness to a layout. The stamp of the girl on my tag, actually has the word London underneath her and we had a wonderful 3 days in London with ours son when he was living there . The colours I have used are also my favourite colours... So yep this layout although contradictory in so many ways is also very much bits of me.

Hope I haven't bored you with my little discoveries on the journey I went on, but I enjoyed it and just wanted to share.

A Couple of Layouts to share

This time tomorrow 17th May 3 years ago, we left on a trip of a life time, 2 months overseas.....sigh. I soooooooo want to go back.
Maybe that is why the last two layouts I have been compelled to scrap are from our trip.

Love the verse on this it goes~
And above all Watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you
Because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places
Those who dont beleive in Magic will never find it ~ Roald Dahl

I have written around the outside of my layout Everyday I watched with Glittering eyes
There is indeed so much Magic in the World
My eyes were alwasy wide with wonder

Actually sometimes I thought they were going to pop out of my head, like in the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel & Art Galleries and the Natural Beauty of Austria , Gees here I go, oh and this last bit is not written on my layout, Im just off on a tagent.... Sorry.  I get a bit carried away when I start thinking about our trip. I'll stop now Oh  except for the little bit Ive already typed under the next layout :0

Rome is such and incredible place to visit, everywhere you look is something amazing to see. I would do the whole trip again in a heart beat.
Anyway one day it is my dream to return and one has to have dreams.
Please let me know you have come by for a visit, so I know Im not talking/typing to myself here.
I used Kaisercraft pp on both layouts
Wishing you all a wonderful week
