LOVE THAT SMILE ~ ARCHISCRAPS APRIL CHALLENGE

Good Morning ! another month has flown by, which means lots of new challenges.
Today I am sharing my DT layout for Archiscraps which is to use sewing on your layout.

 and here is my take

Love that smile 

My beautiful Grandmother , whom was fondly known by all as Mum Coyte. I have lovely memories of Mum Coyte. She had a happy disposition , I never saw her angry. One of my favourite memories is that she would always come to wave us off and I can still see her standing at the gate in her apron and stripy socks . She had a lolly jar on top of the fridge, that my Father always headed to. I loved visiting her ( she lived not far from us)  . We called in every Sunday after 8am mass and cooked toast in the fire on a folk, good times. She raise 9 children in a tiny little home, but filled with love.
Sadly I don't have memories of Dad Coyte as he died from a heart attack quite young watching a football match.

I have messy sewed around the edge of my layout to create a border.
The photo is a little grainy of my Grandmother, but it captures her happy spirit.

MEMORIES FOR THE BOOK OF LIFE ~ MEGS GARDEN

Hello !
Today I am up at Megs Garden Blog, so I would like to share my DT layout with you.

Memories for the Book of Life

The image of the book on the pp made me think about the book of life and the memories we keep , so this is the theme I wanted to incorporate into my layout, using a old photo of  a afternoon with friends and me being a new Mum ( so this photo would be about 37 years old ! ) Yikes that makes me feel old !
If you pop over to Megs Blog I have detailed how I created my layout and products used.

I should tell you though how I treated the chipboard piece , as I haven't done so at Megs. I first gessoed it and then I painted with two shades of pan pastels. For the leaves I transferred little torn pieces of serviette with modge podge  . I then coated the whole piece with modge podge which also sealed the pan pastels. 
All other products besides the stamping and washi are from Megs Store.

Enjoy the rest of your week, we have been having quite warm days and nights still, which is a bit unusual where I live at this time of year, so I am enjoying it while I can.

My handmade item is the little flower near the boys foot .

I have stars, hearts , buttons , washi and ribbon. I brought the circus ribbon at a fete years ago and finally have used a little. Thank You Lizzy for the tag , perfect for a layout with Joseph , as it is a little joke as he calls himself the King and it is in the name of his business as well. Hence I tend to put little crowns on his head in some layouts :)

Joseph with his Gma and Dot Dot ( Mum's Sister ) My kids must not have been able to say Auntie Dot when they were little and they always called her Dot Dot. Dot Dot was a beautiful lady .

SCRAPPING, SCRAPPING , SCRAPPING !

Hello , Hello!
Seems I have been doing a lot of scrapping of late, so I have a few layouts to share with you today. I have a few photo's sitting on my desk, so I have been picking them up and getting them documented.
Firstly a layout I created for the sketch challenge at Home and Scrapped

Happiness is Here

I haven't brought any new papers for quite awhile, but when I had the opportunity to buy this range , well it was just too pretty to walk by.

I really like how the piece of doily with the flowers and leaves looks like a dream catcher

I used a PL card behind my photo and the quote at the side is a PL card . These I got at the Reject shop. The flair is from Funky flair Studio ( seems I can't get enough of these lately) 
My two Grandchildren who make me very happy :) 

Next another layout for the March Title Challenge at Home and Scrapped. The challenge is to use a title or phrase from a Movie

Carpe Diem

I am not sure what has come over me with the last few layouts, but they have been quite minimalistic , which is not like me. Sometimes I think it is just what a layout needs to be though
I started with the strip of washi and then I dragged a old card through paint for my thinner lines. Another Funky Flair Studio Flair ( it is a shame that they throw a reflection when photographing them) 

I've also been participating in Marta's 52 Cafe Cards

There are couple more I have done, but I seemed to have deleted my pics of them and one was my fave :( Oh well you are probably having overload anyway.

LONDON CALLING ~ 123 CHALLENGE BLOG

Hello fellow paper lovers. Today I would like to share a couple of layouts with you.
Last night I felt like doing a layout and had a challenge in mind. Whilst looking for suitable PP I came across some really old Kaiser Brown paper , which made me think of the challenge at 123 Challenge blog. The challenge is ~ Brown, Fun and Borders. So off I went on a  tangend.

London Calling

The travel flair is from Funky Flair Studio. I also found some containers that I had organised to be more organised :) that have lots of little bits and pieces and sentiments , so I delved into them and had a ball. Trouble with being organised and putting things away in containers I forget to use them. I need to have things on my desk. I added the "Fun Times " sentiment .

For my borders I found some old stick ons and rub ons and the green strip was  from the bottom of a piece of PP that was kicking around, so on it went to.
I love the Red Phone boxes, Red buses and cute little taxis in London, they just feel like "Fun".

Today I am also up at A2Z Scraplets blog 

Sparkle

The Sparkle wordlet seemed appropriate, because , well my Granddaughter just Sparkles :) and a very proud Poppy.

Soul Scrappers

Hello ! Well I have been feeling rather shabby today, but never mind , better days ahead.
Today I am sharing a couple of layouts for challenges at Soul Scrappers . They have a choice of challenges to choose from each month.
Firstly sharing a layout for the one word challenge , which this month is Heart.

My Heart My Boys

Well these three pretty much have my heart. The flair is from Funky Flairs Studio the sentiment says Together , which I thought was fitting, added the Word Perfect above, so it reads Perfect Together 
I know why I usually forget to prime my page with Gesso, I hate the way it makes it buckle :( Doesn't really matter once its in the page protector , but a pain to try and take a photo.

Next layout ~ I was sent a collection of goodies and I had to create a layout using them all, plus add a quote from 7 quotes sent . I really like how this makes you think of ways to make everything work together .

The first thing I was drawn to was the piece of lace and ornate trim, which made me think vintage. Then I wondered how I was going to make the orange foam foot embellishment fit in. I ended up tucking it in the side of the photo revealing just a pop of colour (which I actually like). I also ended up liking the blue sparkly strip and coloured buttons as well. I think the bits of colour ended up working ok. 
the key on the other side is a shiny purple  (which I didn't like ) but not to be defeated I turned it over and inked the back (much better).
I worked out that I am about 17 in this photo.

Vienna ~ Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

Hello ! 
Today I am sharing the challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge, which is to use Chipboard and something old from your stash.

VIENNA

The Vienna chipboard title is from A2Z Scraplets and I have simply painted it with Kaisercraft paint.

Apart from the flair from Funky Flairs Studio , everything else I have used is from old stash. 

The photo is of one of the beautiful churches in Vienna.

Archiscraps Challenge

The challenge this month at Archiscraps  is all about Mosaics

This made me think of a photo I took in Budapest in the Jewish Quarter 

Raoul Wellenberg Holocast Memoral Budapest . Near the foot of the stained glasss memorial is a black stone which Lists Roaul Wallenberg and other notable people who were not Jewish but saved the lives of Jewish People

I have a stencil that has a similar pattern to the stain glass mosaic,  and then I added mists

Well yesterday I went over to Spotlight and they actually had a pack of the new Wildflower Collection from Kaisercraft in the store, so I snapped it up, they didn't have many and it has been soooooooo long since they have had any new papers in the shop. A positive to this situation is that I have been using up all my old papers, but it was nice to create with a new range.
It inspired me to create this layout

I had just watched my Grand Daughter dancing in the Eisteddfod and we took the happy snap afterwards . Flair is from Funky Flairs Studio

HAPPY TOGETHER ~ PIXELS AND PAPER

Morning ! I am still catching up
Today I would like to share a layout for the challenge at Pixels and Paper .
Criteria ~ Flowers
I like using flowers on my layouts, but for some reason I don't feel I have for ages, so thought I would like to do this challenge. It ended up not what I had envisaged I would do. I ended up fussy cutting my flowers !

Happy Together

The papers and sentiments are all from Amy Tangerine. The papers and sentiments seemed perfect for the photo.
Flair is from StudioFourteen40.  I made the bottle top flair.

I was quite happy with how this turned out and think it looks better IRL.

Megs Garden

With catching up I will also share my layout on the Blog at Megs Garden today and it still has to do with flowers :)

A stroll in the Garden

My Mum loved her garden and created a beautiful garden with limited water (she saved every drop ) So this range of papers and the sentiment A Stroll through the garden made me think of Mum and her garden that she loved so much.

EASTER HAPPINESS IS CHOCOLATE OVERLOAD ~ A2Z SCRAPLETS

Hello !  I had better get my skates on and catch up on my blog posts !
I have another layout to share with you using the A2Z Scraplets chipboard. We would really love if you could visit and leave some blog love. If you would like the links to the chipboard and also how I altered them,  just pop over to the blog for details.

This is my eldest son enjoying his stash from the Easter Bunny. He's a bit cute :) The flair is from Funky Flairs Studio  The gorgeous bunny is a free printable from Pinterest.

I must be reminiscing , as now I would like to share a layout of my daughter when she was little.

  This one is for the Challenge at Sketchy Boards  . Here are the prompts

 This is what I came up with

I had the photos sitting on my desk for awhile and thought they would work with the sketch.

Old photo's are not such great quality, but I still love them.

Flair is once again from Funky Flairs Studio ( I do like using flairs ) I found the piece of red and white checked material in my craft cupboard whilst searching for something else. I decided to add it to my layout as it reminded me of a little dress and bonnet my Mum made Chelsea. I attached it with staples. 
I have managed to also use up some old PP's with both layouts.
It seemed every time we visited my Husbands relatives on the farm , there would be a new litter of puppies to tempt us. One year we weakened and took a Puppy home that we named Podge.
