REMEMBER US ~ STUDIOFOURTEEN40 ~ HOME AND SCRAPPED

Good afternoon, TGIF and I finished early , so I got a chance to finish this layout using the gorgeous Flair from Studiofourteen40 "always" range. A lot has been happening at Studiofourteen40, they have just released a whole lot of Christmas product, including new Christmas flair and introducing wood veneer to their range AND they have also just released a Christmas kit and mini kit exclusive to StudioFourteen40.  The response has been huge, so if you would like one I would not waste time , I think there is only about 3 kits left !
Now to share my layout which I am entering in the challenge at Home and Scrapped , the theme ~ Love

Remember us

I came across this photo in my Mum's album and this is a photo of my Dad's best mate and his lovely wife. Dad and Charlie ( who's real name was Billy, but us Aussie's like to call someone by a different name to that which they were christened for some reason ) met in the shearing sheds and remained friends their whole life. I then decided this story needed to be told and documented as Charlie and Norma were a big part of our lives.
We often visited them for holidays at a small country town called Goolma. Goolma has a church, general store , pub and tennis courts. We would go to church on Sunday morning and then Sunday afternoon everyone gathered for social tennis. A trip across the road to the shop was always a treat. Charlie and Norma lived on a property which you had to drive through the paddocks to reach. I loved collecting the eggs and Norma made the best caramel pies ever. Norma was a wonderful cook. Charlie was a big, gentle man who spoke very slow and quiet with a dry sense of humour. Norma spoke at a hundred miles an hour a pocket rocket. I remember them and those times fondly. They always attended our family events.

The pearl spray and little pearl hearts are from The Trinket Track.

The pink, grey, white button hiding there in the cluster is from Craftqueen as is the little flower, brass flower and satin seam binding.

How cute are these chippies from Scrapmatts ? I have embossed the scissors and thimble and coloured the cotton reel with pens. The gorgeous papers are FabScraps
So if you are still with me here is the full layout

Thank you for calling by and have a wonderful weekend

CLASS LAYOUT ~ REMEMBER THE WONDERFUL PARTS

Hello,

I don't know about you , but this time of year I find a little overwhelming with all there is to do and it comes around so quickly.
I have managed to do some creating, not as much as I would like, but some.
This is the layout I did for my class last weekend and I also added to The Flying Unicorns gallery.

Remember the wonderful parts

I found this fantastic photo in my Mum's album, unfortunately I do not know who they are. I have a feeling they may be two of  Mum's  brothers, especially the one in the front , I feel is my Uncle Harry. I will have to see if some of my relatives know.

I added an old zipper and button from my Mum's bits and bods tin . The canvas behind the photo I have stained with coffee.

The key I embossed and I made the bottle top embellishment. The old car I stamped and fussy cut out

The gorgeous Paper is FabScraps .
Thanks so much for calling by. Hope you are not feeling over whelmed with the Christmas Season.

FEEDING THE CHOOKS ~ ARTastic CHALLENGE

Good afternoon on this hot, hot day. Not complaining I prefer summer to winter, but boy we need some rain!
The new challenge is up at ARTastic and it's all about chooks, dancing ones at that.

Criteria is Doodling

and remember "doodling" can be as simple as a hand drawn border

delightful artwork by Antje Collis called Tra-la-la

Originally when I saw the Challenge I was going to do a layout of my GD Dancing, then one day at work we were talking about free range hens and the word scrap bucket was mentioned. Childhood memories came flooding back ! We always had chooks and we had a Scrapbucket. As luck would have it my son had taken photo's of his Grandma pottering around doing her chores including feeding the chooks. Not as pretty as a ballerina, but all of a sudden this memory became very important for me to document. I have doodled circles in a white gel pen and doodled around the edges of the layout as well.

Awesome StudioFourteen40 Flair

Little bird in the cage from Craftqueen

I have broken the chicken wire chippy up and embossed it.

Beautiful old button from my Mum's button tin
Thank you for calling by. Hope you can join us in this challenge. What does the image make you think of ? I am so glad to have this memory jogged for me and that now I have recorded it. Can't wait to see yours !

I think this is a great idea and to just download a layout in the gallery is a very easy thing for us to do.
I always admire the beautiful work at the Flying Unicorn, but I have never been confident enough to enter a layout.

This is the gorgeous sketch prompt

She is delightfully Chaotic

I received a surprise win from a challenge at Scrapbookit yesterday and made quick use of some of the very generous prize.
Loved the resist Pattern Paper , it was fun watching the pattern come through when adding paints and inks. The gorgeous flower and braid were also part of the prize

Little Pearl flowers are from Craftqueen

She is Delightfully Chaotic
A Beautiful Mess
Loving her is a Splendid Adventure ~ Steve Marabolt

When I came across this quote I loved it and I think my husband may think of me as this , only with a few words taken out.
I am sure he thinks I am Chaotic , although I don't know if he would use Delightfully.
Hmmmm yes probably a mess, don't know about the beautiful.
I am sure it is a adventure, not sure if he thinks its splendid, but hopefully more to come.
And he would add No time management, gees if I had a dollar for every time he tells me that fact, ( like I don't know)

I hope you are encouraged to join in at Flying Unicorn for this worth wise cause.

SCRAPPY CANARY CYBER CROP ~ SKETCH CHALLENGE

Gosh hello again, two posts in one day !
But I just realized I had not added my take on the sketch challenge for the Scrappy Canary Cyber crop

I have been busting to do some PL , so thought I would use the sketch to inspire me to do a page

The lovely card with the quote I actually received the day I was doing this from a Pen friend from Ireland, so I wanted to add it to the page.

SCRAPPY CANARY CYBER CROP ~ TIC TAC TOE

Good afternoon !
The weekend is nearly over :(  I have been participating in the Scrappy Canary Cyber Crop and really enjoying the challenges. I wanted to complete them all, I think I only ran out of time for one.
This one is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge . I have chosen the bottom line across. Go to favourite product ( which at the moment for me is thread)
Washi Tape ( trying to use my collection more )
Flowers

The dance is a poem

Gorgeous StudioFourteen40 flair and if you haven't visited the shop lately you should have a little look see , because they have listed lots of gorgeous new product, including Christmas embellishments and flairs :)
The silver sparkly sequin leaf was amongst my Mum's craft goodies as was the daisy braid. Pink thread (also Mum's) feathers and washi tape. Texture paste through a mask and water colour paints.

My beautiful Grand Daughter.
Wishing you all a wonderful week

SCRAPPY CANARY CYBER CROP CHALLENGE AND HOME AND SCRAPPED CHALLENGE

Good afternoon !

Gosh a day off flies by, but I did manage to get a layout done for the Challenge at Scrappy Canary Cyber Crop to create your own background and I have also combined it with the challenge at Home and Scrapped to do a layout on something/someone you love. I am also going to teach this at my class this weekend.

How do you spell Love

Love StudioFourteen40 flairs and they have just released their New Christmas range, plus Wood Veneer! and Laserz Cutz , lots of exciting things happening

I created my background with water paints, Texture paste through a stencil, Stamps and washi tape. I have gone around some of the stencil pattern with a charcoal pencil

I have used the lovely quote from Winnie the Pooh

The layout is of my Grandson , who I certainly do Love to the Moon and Back

SCRAPPY CANARY CYBER CROP

Morning !

I don't know what happened to Spring, but gee it is a bit chilly here today.
At the moment there is a Cyber Crop happening over at Scrappy Canary and you can click on this link to find the challenges Scrappy Canary

Yesterday/night I managed to complete two of the challenges.

First one to use Orange and Black

StudioFourteen40 Flair . I think Lizzy may have given me the love chippy ? ( which I embossed ) Always together chippy words are from Scrapmatts . Some vintage thread that was my Mum's

The "Us " banner is from Scrapmatts , of course you get the whole alphabet :) The little banner that I have use the love Rubon on up the top was a scrap from the Scrapmatts chippies that I just embossed.

I have stamped two butterflies on transparency and embossed one and then overlaid them.
Also I have fussy cut a lot of flowers.

The next challenge I completed last night is to use pastels and gold colouring.
I came across this quote on Pinterest and really liked it so decided to put it in my art journal

I hope you get time to join in on the challenges . Enjoy the rest of your weekend

MUSIC CAN CHANGE THE WORLD ~ ANOTHER FREAKING SCRAPPY CHALLENGE

Hello ! 1st Nov already, gosh Christmas is creeping up rather fast !
A new month means a new challenge at AFSC and the challenge is....

Your talent or a talent you wish for.

Well I have always wished I could sing, I think it is such a gift and one I missed out on BIG time, I would be the worse singer EVER !
I think Music is the most amazing thing, it can unite people, ignite emotions,  create memories , bring back memories and Change the world  ..
The feeling must be amazing,  just watching Freddy Mercury strut his stuff at the Live Aide Concert , he had thousands of people in the palm of his hand.
Leonard Cohen still going strong at 80! Loved his concert last year. I have been lucky enough to see U2 in Concert a couple of times and my layout is of Bono doing his thing at one of the concerts.

Music can Change the World

I have used a mask similar to the pattern in the gorgeous Fab Scraps PP and texture paste and then added Pan Pastels and Paint to make it stand out a bit more
I also used the little left over pieces from the die cut to add texture and dimension ( I hate wasting anything)  Stamping and rub ons. So even the super pretty Pattern papers can be grunged up .

The guitar and music Note charms are from Craftqueen

Thank you for calling by and I sure hope you can join in with the challenge and tell us what your talent is or wish it to be. Have a wonderful weekend

Love , Peace and Happiness
